Project Description and Impact

Our organization strives to make healthcare information accessible and useful for 8,000 users in Latin America. Our main objective is improving life expectancy and quality for every Latin American patient. We created the first Latin HIPAA-Compliant EHR platform, 20/20, to harbor over 50,000,000 patient records in 5 years and to use Big Data as a tool for accelerating regional development.

We want to start our Latin American expansion operation, but our current selected jurisdiction is proving to be not viable. We are constituted in Panama because the Venezuelan crisis makes it next to impossible to operate on our home country, and Panama was the most economically viable option. However, creating a bank account has been an odyssey, and the starting deposit too high to pay. Furthermore, we tried to open a bank account in several other jurisdictions including the US, to end up paying a lot of money and failing to obtain a result.

Beginning operations with will make our organization able to create a new healthcare information model for the region, in order to prevent the complications experienced by 1 out 10 Latin American patients, which result in the death of 3 out of 100 attendees. Furthermore, the information collected by us will make healthcare information a regional development tool, by allowing access to realtime Population Health through Big Data analysis.
