Social Impact Project for Train Rural Women to Become Entrepreneurs
Project Description and Impact
In rural communities like Lwengo, women spend much their time collecting firewood, fetching water, cooking, caregiving for the young and sick, and small-scale farming. We work with women to improve their livelihoods through skills development such managing small group enterprises or handicrafts. The women currently work in small groups to make handbags, tablemats, beads, or bracelets to earn additional income. Our goal is to support these women so that they are able to scale up their small businesses, become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods through selling these handmade products.
We are looking for an Experteer who can help the women improve their business skills and be able to not only sustain their smallscale enterprises but to also grow their business and reach international markets.
You will be working with the women on a daily basis to improve their products through better branding, improving quality to suit international standards and also help them find sustainable ways to reduce their costs in producing these products. You will also work with the women to establish marketing strategies for their products both locally and internationally.
