Social Impact Project for Fundraising Expert to Support Youth Employment in Uganda

Project Description and Impact

We are a nonprofit in Kampala, Uganda that empowers youth to become employable by turning their passions into sustainable careers. The organization addresses the lack of the economic opportunity for youth through an innovative, holistic program. The program uses free online courses, mentoring, skills development and entrepreneurship training. Through our program, participants are empowered to develop passion driven sustainable careers that enable them to become financially independent while creating employment opportunities for others.

Our organization also provides business support services that equip youth to become job creators, successful entrepreneurs and peer leaders in their communities. We equip youth with life skills and business skills that enable youth become financially independent.

As our organization is growing and getting ready to scale, we need a diversity of financial, technical and infrastructure resources to enable us achieve the organisational goals. Fundraising is therefore core to our ability to scale impact as well as operations. Our annual target for 2020 is to impact 500 early start up entrepreneurs from low income communities - urban slums, rural communities and two refugee settlement camps. This will lead to the creation of approximately 700 jobs for vulnerable youth who will in turn support at least one extra family members either a sibling or ageing parent.
