Social Impact Project for Legal Expert to Review Animal Foster Care Agreements in Nashville
Project Description and Impact
Our social enterprise provides crisis foster care for cats and dogs, when their owners are temporarily unable to care for them. We require the pet owners to sign an agreement allowing us to make medical decisions for their pet while the pet is in foster care, and if we are unable to contact the owner after a certain number of days, the agreement transfers ownership of the pet to our rescue organization. We also have foster homes sign an agreement releasing our organization of any liability while fostering.
We are seeking the support of a lawyer with knowledge of local animal welfare laws to review both agreements and recommend any necessary changes.
