Social Impact Project for Digital Engagement / Learning Expert for Sustainable Cities in Myanmar

Project Description and Impact

We are a small participatory design practice based in Yangon, Myanmar, dedicated to building better cities. In a world of rapid urbanisation, we want to make sure cities are places with identity, and that they are liveable, inclusive and sustainable. We specialise in preserving heritage, improving public space, and organising activities that connect people to places. In all of our activities we integrate capacity building as much as possible, seeking to build a new generation of urban activists and designers.

Due to COVID-19 we are shifting more and more of our research, public engagement and capacity building activities online. In collaboration with a Myanmar digital agency we have adopted or developed a number of new research and engagement methods that are helping us to continue engaging and exchanging with Yangon's residents. We are now also starting to explore digital formats for our capacity building formats. Previously these were events and tours for the general public and tourists, and workshops and trainings for students and professionals; and we are now investigating how we could turn these into meaningful and effective digital experiences. We actually believe that by bringing some of our activities online, we may be able to reach a much larger audience in Myanmar and Southeast Asia.

The help of a digital transformation expert with experience in the field of learning would tremendously help us in making this shift successfully!

Learning Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and innovative organisation and share in our vision to make Yangon Asia’s most livable urban place – environmentally, economically, socially and culturally. We will also be looking at other cities in Myanmar soon, and possibly across borders. We work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects and topic areas, both individually and on project teams.
